I've recently found a great tool to help me keep track of how many calories I consume each day and how many calories I burn with exercise. It's called Daily Plate on the Livestrong website. You can search a database of literally thousands of foods from popular brands in the grocery store to restaurant chains nationwide. I love using it to pre-plan what I'll eat when I head out with friends on Fridays for lunch. This way I can plan appropriately and not slip up too much with my eating plan. Another great feature is being able to search an extensive database of physical activities from applying makeup (yep, it's on there) to practicing yoga and everything in between. The oddest entry I've seen on there is called "attending". Someone has entered calories burned for attending class (156 cals/hr) and attending meetings (130 cals/hr)!
If you're looking for an easy way to keep yourself accountable, give Daily Plate a try! Did I mention it's FREE? Try it, you have nothing to lose...
